Continue that’s good …~!~
I learned that kick in a different way. I learned the leg has to come straight up and not from the inside of the other leg. Then I was taught to throw it out when I reached the level of my nose.
my hand aouts aaaaaaaaaaaaaa
There is a blocking crescent to set up for other things and then there is a striking crescent kick. You NEVER come up directly in the middle as they can jam you and block the kick. You also do not swing to wide as you telgraph the movement and give them time to react. The arc should swing just enough in a circle so they can’t blobk but do not see it until it’s about to hit there face.
Same with blocking with the arms. Too close to body you get hit. Block to far out-your open/off balance.
you shouldnt need to worry about this kick being blocked…generally i would never use it in a confrontation. Only if the person was holding a knife.
Simple fighting is proper fighting, theres no need to attempt to be fancy and fail
I dont konw where this guy to learned the kongfu~~~! this action just use for warm up when every time you start to kongfu training~~~not for fighting!!! and this is not a kick as well~!as I said, just warm up action! I dont think this guy really konw what is the kongfu~!
is this real shaolin kung fu???????
crescent kicks are a defensive kick, they are used in actual kung fu.
well nickwong i don’t mean it bad but i do kung fu too(and we have this kick too(i only don’t know wich style he practice)) and actually you can use this as a kick
that is one of my favorite kicks I am a Kung Fu student myself
Actually, this kick is one of the Ji Ben Gong exercises to strengthen and develop the muscles and flexibility for combative kicks. That’s why the hands are held out to the side. In Kung Fu, crescent kicks are indeed done with a straight leg, but the stance would be more closed in a real fight. In a real fight, all martial artists end up resembling kickboxers when they’re kicking.
OK depnding on What style of Kung fu you take this is warm up or actual kick.
in my style it is a kick with mutiple variations so stop the damn argueing
I bet Bruce Lee can beat you up.
hate ur dress get a new one
It’s suppose to block a fist straight to your face.
this is not only a fantastic kick for kung fu but i use it in my kyokushin karate studies. i think its a wonderful kick to use to daze and confuse your opponent while you go for the knock out punch
hey ben i thought that kyokushin fighters used only low kicks and maintained a low center of gravity, or am i thinking of shotokan?
Can Someone Help Me Here? When i Do my outside crescent Kcik my groin kinda hurts and it pops whta shud i di about this
you look like you gotta go poop dude
please protect your head with your hands at least…
Uhm, Ben, are you aware that punches to the face are illegal in Kyokushin, as well as all other forms of karate?
Just wondering, isn’t it a bit of a giveaway when during a kung fu match you all of a sudden do the Jesus thing and spread your arms wide open? The other guy must be thinking “Hmmm, I wonder what’s coming next!” Might as well yell out CRESCENT KICK four seconds before you even lift your leg. Telegraph much?
stretch
good for stretching purposes, nothing else.
if you can execute this properly with speed you won’t be able to see your own kick.
